Refractive lens exchange is a surgical vision correction procedure in which the eye’s natural lens is replaced with an artificial intraocular lens. It is often recommended for patients with significant refractive errors or age-related vision changes such as presbyopia. Before surgery, a detailed evaluation is performed to assess eye health, lens clarity, and visual goals. Advanced measurements are used to select the most appropriate lens type, which may include multifocal or extended-depth-of-focus options. The procedure is similar to cataract surgery and is performed under local anesthesia.
